Foundations of Scientific Computing

Lecture:   Mon-Wed-Fri, 9:05-9:55, 566 McBryde Hall.
Office hours: Mon-Wed, 12-1, 632 McBryde. If you cannot make it, please send me e-mail to arrange for a mutual agreeable time.
Exam: Section 9M, May 7, 7:45-9:45.

The class will focus on fundamental aspects of scientific computing including floating point arithmetic, algorithmic accuracy, conditioning, algorithmic stability, efficiency, and examples. For detailed information please consult the syllabus.

There will be no written midterm or final examinations.  Grading will be based on homework, term projects, and a class presentation.
