The Association for Women in Computing would like to announce the ninth annual Women in Computing Day to be held on April 13th, 2007.  Women in Computing Day is an event where young middle school women come to visit Virginia Tech for one day to learn about different areas of computing like hardware, programming, and cutting edge technology like our giga-pixel display. This year there is going to be a record number of attendees: close to 80 girls!

The AWC would like to thank the companies who have contributed.  "This year our keynote speaker is from IBM, and the money for the event comes from the CSRC companies. We also received goodies for prizes from the CSRC companies that came to the CS-Career Fair", says Meg Kurdziolek, co-chair of the Women in Computing Day.

AWC would also like to encourage people to come help out at this beneficial event.  You can contact Meg Kurdziolek ( This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it ) for detailed information, and check out the event homepage at http://www.awc.org.vt.edu/wicd.htm
