Student earns prize in ACM Student Research Competition PDF Print E-mail

Active ImageAmrita Pati, a Ph.D. candidate in the CS department, has won the third prize in ACM's Student Research Competition at the Grace Hopper Conference this year. She will now compete in ACM-SRC's grand finals scheduled to be held in mid 2008.

Amrita works with Dr. Lenwood Heath. Her research interests are in the areas of Algorithms, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Graph Theory, and Biological Data Integration.

Of all participants in the poster presentation session at Grace Hopper, 16 were chosen as SRC entrants. Five semi-finalists were chosen based on evaluation of poster-presentations. Of these, three finalists were chosen based on presentations of their research, to proceed to ACM's grand finals.
