The Department of Computer Science extends its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims of the April 16 shootings at Virginia Tech. Our hearts go out to the families of all the students affected, and to our colleagues in the departments of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Engineering Science & Mechanics, and Foreign Languages & Literature.
Although no Computer Science students or staff were among the direct victims, this tragedy has affected all of us as part of the larger Virginia Tech community.
We are grateful for the many messages of concern and support that we have received from alumni and friends of the department.
