Active ImageActive Image The Green500 List, which debuted in November 2007 at the Supercomputing 2007 (SC|07) conference to provide a ranking of the most energy-efficient supercomputers in the world and serve as a complementary view to the TOP500, has, once again, made the news.  A cover feature article in IEEE Computer in the December 2007 issue is entitled The Green500 List: Encouraging Sustainable Supercomputing.

In addition, a cover feature story in the January/February 2008 issue of  IT Professional talks about how Green Supercomputing Comes of Age. This coming of age is supported by a recent article on the Green Computing movement, which points to the Green Destiny supercomputer as the start of the movement in supercomputing.
