Blacksburg, SC honors Blacksburg, VA |

 Students of Blacksburg, South Carolina honored us with their thoughtfulness on May 1. In remembrance of the tragic incident that took place in our campus, members of the school council got together at the football field of Blacksburg High School and formed the VT letters (photo).
The school principals and four student body presidents attended ceremonies at the elementary school. The students also rang the bell 32 times, once for every life lost on April 16. At the same time, the First Baptist Church rang out the noon hour and the local merchants in the city limits stood outside the door of their business as everyone paused in one accord and prayed.
“We continue to think about you and we want you to know that you are still in our prayers and thoughts. We are working on a designing a t-shirt as a memorial and will send all proceeds to your fund set up in honor of your lost loved ones.” said Ms. Kelly Davis, Blacksburg SC teacher who came up with the idea of this memorial.
We are thankful to our sister city for their warmth and support in the hardest moment of our history.
