I am an instructor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech. I teach anything from introductory programming to advanced data structures and operating systems.
I'm also the faculty advisor for the Virginia Tech student chapter of the ACM.
Why?
I teach because I enjoy it, at least most of the time. I teach computer science because it's interesting. I've also taught mathematics here at Virginia Tech and elsewhere.

BA Mathematics Virginia Tech 1976
MS Mathematics Virginia Tech 1978
MS Computer Science Virginia Tech 1992
Where am I from?
I grew up in Franklin, West Virginia (population about 750). I've lived in Blacksburg, Virginia for all but five years since 1972.
