Associate professor of computer science Ali Butt was awarded funding from Oak Ridge National Labs (ORNL) for his proposal entitled "A Staged Data Delivery Tool for HPC."  Butt is the sole PI on this award.  Dr. Butt describes the project: "In this project, we will design and extend our staged data delivery mechanisms for supporting data-intensive applications on modern supercomputers into an easy-to-use tool. A key objective of this work is to deploy the tool on a production supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Lab. If successful, the project will lead to numerous opportunities for testing our data management techniques on large production systems, as well as bragging rights to that we have impacted performance of OLCF machines."
