Mary Guy Miller, Ph.D. is president and founder of Interactive Design
and Development, Inc. (IDD), a successful, award-winning information
technology firm in Blacksburg, Virginia. Under her leadership and
guidance throughout the past 11 years, IDD has created multimedia
products and technological solutions for a wide range of organizations,
which include several Fortune 500 companies, such as Dow Chemical
Company, Hewlett-Packard, Citibank, Mead Johnson Nutritionals, and Dole
Food Company. These highly successful applications are used in public
schools, universities, and businesses across the country and throughout
the world.
Recognized in 1996 as one of the Top 100 Multimedia Developers in the
United States, Miller is a sought after speaker and consultant in the
area of instructional design. Actively involved in promoting the
benefits of technology, she currently serves on the Governor's Chief
Information Officer Advisory Board to strategize and effectively
implement the use of technology across the agencies and institutions of
higher learning within Virginia, and is a member of the Executive
Committee of the Virginia Economic Bridge.
Miller is also committed to the importance of education, receiving
both her master's of information science (MIS) as well as her doctorate
in instructional design from Virginia Tech. Her dedication to her alma
matter and to the field of information technology was recognized at the
75th Anniversary of Women at Virginia Tech when she was chosen as an
outstanding woman alumna. Miller is also devoted to giving back to the
community in which her business has grown, serving as president for the
Rotary Club of Blacksburg.
