Each year, the CSRC holds two career events. In the fall, students attend the Career Reception, where they mingle with CSRC company representatives, gather company information, and enjoy light refreshments in a relaxed atmosphere. Each spring, the CSRC organizes a Career Night event, to which all computer science students are invited, including students looking for full-time jobs, co-ops, and summer internship positions.

Annual Computer Science Career Reception was held Monday, Sept. 17,
2007, for all CS undergraduate and graduate students. The event gave students preparing to enter the work force an opportunity to meet
representatives from CSRC member companies and to discuss career goals
and opportunities. While on campus for this event, representatives from the CSRC member
companies participated in panel discussions in a junior/senior level
professionalism class and the Hypatia/Galileo freshmen seminar classes. Students asked a variety of questions from these
experts in the "real world." The representatives reported good news for
the CS job market, with most saying that their companies will be
greatly increasing the number of new hires. CSRC members also had the opportunity to attend a
luncheon where the invited guests included CS faculty, undergraduate scholarship winners, and CS student group leaders. Companies who attended this fall: CGI-AMS Eastman Chemical Evergrid Google High Performance Technologies, Inc IBM Lockheed Martin Meridium Microsoft The MITRE Corp.
