Eleven years in Blacksburg,
left Ernie with a few degrees in Computer Science, and an affinity for Mike’s
burgers. After leaving Virginia Tech in
1994, Ernie joined the technical staff at the MITRE Corporation where he has
supported a wide variety of programs in the defense simulation arena. Ernie left MITRE in 2001 to work as an
independent consultant. During the
period 2001-2004, he served as the Technical Advisor for the U.S. Army Model
and Simulation Office, and was the Chief Scientist for the U.S. Army Modeling
Architecture for Training, Research and Experimentation (MATREX). Ernie returned to MITRE in 2004. He serves on the editorial boards of several
simulation journals. He is a past
Chairman of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest Group
on Simulation (SIGSIM), and is a member of the Winter Simulation Conference
Board of Directors. Apart from his work,
Ernie enjoys golf, playing drums in various local club bands, and referring to
himself in the third person. |
