Giving to Computer Science
The generosity of alumni, corporations, parents, and friends of Computer Science enables our department to fund many special activities, and we have plans to offer more scholarships as soon as they are funded. Donations, matching gifts, gifts in kind and planned gifts are only a few of the many ways that you can give to the department. If you already are a regular contributor to the Department of Computer Science, we offer our sincere thanks, and ask for your continued support. If you are not, we invite you to become part of the future of our department by making your contribution today.
State budget cuts in recent years have impacted all departments at Virginia Tech, including Computer Science. We need your support now more than ever as we strive to meet President Charles Steger's goal of becoming one of the top 30 research institutions in the nation by the end of the decade. Private giving is essential to fund a broad range of programs and initiatives, including student scholarships. It also will aid us in attracting and retaining the highest quality faculty and students. Gifts such as yours will help to ensure that our students receive a quality education and will enable the department to remain competitive with other top computer science departments around the world.
