CSRC Information

What can you expect as a CSRC member?

Benefits of Regular Membership in the CSRC

  • Increased visibility and recruitment assistance with computer science students, such as distribution of interview schedules; promotional materials, and company information featured in the CS Undergraduate Learning Center, bulletin boards, publications, and in electronic media; and the CS Student Resume CD, a twice-yearly compilation of student resumes.
  • Invitation to Computer Science career events held exclusively for CSRC members:  Career Night in February and the Career Reception in September, for all computer science students. These events include space for recruiting materials, refreshments, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere in which to talk with students.  Many connections made at these events have already led to job offers and acceptances.  Other interactions have planted seeds for future professional relationships.
  • Yearly CSRC Advisory Committee meetings to review recent events, discuss curriculum changes and activities in the department, and plan for the coming year, held in conjunction with the Career Night in the spring.
  • Invitation to Computer Science department picnic and new panel “What I Wish I had Known as a Freshman” for freshmen and sophomores.  The CS Department picnic is in its third year and gives company representatives an opportunity to mingle with students, faculty and staff in an informal environment.  The new panel, created from CSRC feedback, gives representatives a chance to speak with students early in their careers.  Invited students will include students who have recently transferred into CS and students in General Engineering who are interested in CS.

Benefits of Premier Membership in the CSRC

Premier members receive all the benefits of regular membership and:

  • Opportunities to send guest speakers for special events and information sessions, including twice-yearly visits to CS 3604, Professionalism in Computing, and CS 4944, Senior Seminar, both required for all CS majors.   Premier Members also have the opportunity to speak to the Hypatia/Galileo learning communities, to encourage enrollment in Computer Science and to provide helpful career related advice.
  • Assistance in scheduling interview rooms when Career Services has no space.  Interview rooms are on a first-come, first served basis.
  • Assistance in scheduling and publicizing one company information session per semester.
  • Once a semester opportunity for your group to have a company day in our Undergraduate Learning Center.  The ULC is a gathering place for our students and provides ample space for your company to bring refreshments, literature and representatives to meet informally with students.

CSRC dues provide full or partial support for a number of department and student projects:
